One person was killed and six others were hurt in a traffic crash this afternoon on the Dan Ryan Expressway on the South Side.The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway at 96th Street, just north of where the Dan Ryan connects to the Bishop Ford Freeway, said Illinois State Police and Chicago fire personnel.
The six survivors were all taken in serious-to-critical condition to Stroger Hospital and Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, said Fire Department Chief Joe Roccasalva.
