I've lived here for over 20 years and during the nineties it was horrible over in this area. I use to attend beat meetings but nothing seemed to change, now there is a whole new generation of violet gang bangers continuing the rampage. Maybe now our politians will respond to what the people have been complaing about for the last 20 years. That evening when I was notified about the shooting of the baby, I was dazed with anger, remorse and empathy for the suffering the family was encountering and would have to endure in the future. When I spoke to the Supt. he advised me that he would be saturating the area with additional resources and would be in the Ward Friday night. He told me about missions and intelligence and seeking out the leaders of these gangs all as means to an end to this violence. Our response, that of the Community Association Presidents and other community leaders was to request a meeting with the Mayor. I will keep you advised on the results of that meeting.Freddrenna Lylenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4670547542156136826.post-73146885124693782572010-04-23T16:08:31.305-05:002010-04-23T16:08:31.305-05:00Please leave your name in the comment if you don&#...Please leave your name in the comment if you don't have a Goodle or OpenID account.

Anonymous @3:21, are you still in the neighborhood?
