Today the Chicago Urban League announced it has amended a civil rights lawsuit against the State of Illinois and the Illinois State Board of Education it originally filed in August for funding disparities between Black and white school districts.I don't know about this one. If there are issues with the public schools, there are certainly more to it than the schools are underfunded. Just my two cents.
The amended lawsuit adds 11 families from across the state whose children are impacted by poorly funded public schools.
The Tri-County Urban League of Peoria has now joined the Quad County Urban League as a plaintiff in the lawsuit while the Chicago Public Schools considers whether to join.
