Burris said it was nice to visit the area again and the experience reinforced his desire to serve.
“I’ve had one problem with (being Senator). You know what it is? I love being a public servant,” Burris said. “Right now I am really, really concerned about what is happening in my state. ... So I’m stuck up there in a committee as a new senator, and it’s not giving me the same insight as (on this) visit.”
The Centralia native spoke on issues ranging from the area’s economic and employment struggles, to his favorite moments as a Saluki during his visit to the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center.
Also for your reading pleasure Sen. Burris pledges to cooperate with state investigators regarding his US Senate appointment.
