James Robinson, 29, of the 11500 block of South Hale Avenue, was shot outside in the 7500 block of South Perry Avenue about 4:15 p.m., authorities said.
He was later pronounced dead shortly after 5 p.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
The shooting was possibly a drive-by, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer JoAnn Taylor. Calumet Area detectives were investigating the shooting Monday evening, Taylor said.
