Are the casino buses still running?

Just wondering..are the casino buses still running? Are they taking less, or more, of our seniors out of our community, and along with it, our dollars?

I have seen these buses stop at 79th & King, 87th & King, and even 2 of them (at the same time) in front of Tuley Park

Even if we had a Chicago casinos...that's money that would leave our families, and go into the hands of people not interested in the impact for our neighborhoods (such as possible foreclosures & bankruptcies).

Please let us know...

  1. Yes the buses are still running and I don't see them stopping anytime soon. They are not stopping on the streets anymore based partly on pressure from Alderman Lyle but are still stopping at the Jewel's parking lot.

Several of the buses have changed pick up points to Chinatown because of the increase in Asian gamblers.

An interesting side note is that I recently had a conversation with someone who vists the boats late nights and mentioned to me who is there. They stated that there are a large numbers of Asian gamblers who own businesses on the Southside. So the money is going one way or another.
