A 21-year-old man was critically wounded tonight in a shooting on the South Side in the city's Park Manor neighborhood.
The shooting happened about 7:22 p.m. on the 6700 block of South Langley Avenue, said Police News Affairs Officer Dan O'Brien.
Preliminary reports said the man was standing outside when a van pulled up and someone sitting in the rear of the vehicle opened fire, O'brien said.
The man, who suffered a gunshot wound to his leg, was taken by someone at the scene to the University of Chicago Hospitals where he was listed in critical condition, O'Brien said citing preliminary information.
