Cardinal Francis George of the Chicago Archdioces is coming to St. Columbanus 301E 71st Street this Sunday, Dec. 2 at 10:30am for a brief prayer service to show his solidarity with the people of the Park Manor neighborhood in light of the tragedy on Monday. It may only be about 15 minutes.
This past Monday a gang related shootout took place in front of the church. The shooting was not related to the church or neighborhood but the result of an unreported gang funeral at AA Rayner Funeral Home which sits across the street.
