Memorial for Shayla Raymond

These memorials were in place at 87th & King, and 87th & Vernon, in March of 2010.

They are in memory of Shayla Raymond, who was killed by a hit and run driver on Saturday night, March 6.

We posted a blog entry on this tragedy soon afterward.

Her good friend Trishaun Coleman recently posted a comment, noting how at this writing, this crime is still unsolved.

8000 & 8100 South Calumet block club meeting on March 25

The 8000 & 8100 blocks of Calumet are meeting on Thursday, March 25th at 6:30 pm at Crerar Memorial Presbyterian Church, 8100 S. Calumet (corner of Calumet and 81st).

We will cast a new vision for the block club, as well as share new information.

If you are just coming from work, please feel free to bring your dinner.

The 8000 & 8100 blocks of Calumet are meeting tomorrow (Thursday, Dec. 10) at 6:30 pm at Crerar Memorial Presbyterian Church, 8100 S. Calumet (corner of Calumet and 81st).

This meeting will elect new officers for 2010 as well as cast a new vision for the block club.

Please note that this meeting is at the same time as the 6th Ward Alderman's meeting.

Just a reminder for the meeting this Thursday at 6:30pm to be held at Crerar Memorial Presbyterian Church

(8100 S. Calumet: 81st & Calumet, just east of King Drive)


The Alderman will be joined by the Chicago Metropolitation Agency for Planning and will host a go to 2040 "Invent the Future" Workshop (according to her Facebook update)

Japanese Choir performs at Crerar Memorial Presbyterian
