Chicago Tonight: "My Block, My Hood, My City"

[VIDEO] If you missed it yesterday, here is Jahmal Cole's appearance on Chicago Tonight. He talks about his new project where he shares with us his many visits across the 77 community areas of Chicago. We hope to share some of his adventures in the near future. Role Model Movement: Fulfilling the Words of the Declaration

Jahmal Cole is back to discuss the Declaration of Independence. This event is two days from the 4th of July holiday, the day that started the American Revolution:

The next Role Model Movement presentation takes place July 2nd at Whitney Young Library, 7901 S. King Dr. Presentation begins at 6 p.m.

The Topic of Discussion is Fulfilling the Words of the Declaration

Everyone in attendance will get a personal copy of the declaration of independence.

UPDATE: Role Model Movement - The red line inconvenience, injustice or improvement

Well earlier this week we found out another speaker for the monthly Role Model Movement series at Whitney Young Library on 79th & King Drive. In addition to a representative of the Chicago Transit Authority we'll also see 6th Ward Alderman Roderick Sawyer's chief of staff Brian Sleet speak at this event. VIDEO: Ay-Sha Butler "Revamping our Educational System"

[VIDEO] Last month Jahmal Cole's Role Model Movement series at Whitney Young Library took up the subject of public education. This event that took place on March 26, 2013 came around the time of the disclosure of which schools are slated to close.

The video above is Ay-Sha Butler of Resident Association of Greater Englewood. Her community organization was all over the school closings and the Englewood neighborhood would greatly impact that beleaguered neighborhood. Give Ms. Butler's video a watch and let us know what you think.

Chicago Chatham Resident Wins Scion Motivate Award

Jahmal Cole, a Chatham resident recently won a National Competition for Toyota (Scion) Brand. Scion flew him and 50 of America's most passionate entrepreneur's out to LA to meet with executives and to compete for a grand prize. The competition was very tough and they were mentored by CEO's from Spotify, Monster, Entrepreneur Magazine, film makers, Famous Clothing Designers etc. In the end, he was able to secure a victory for his family, the Chatham community, and his Publishing Company Role Model Publishing (LLC). Through book sales, he has been able to fund monthly presentations at Whitney Young Library, and also run teen mentoring workshops. He plans to host these workshops this summer.
