To make good on his offer to help Chicago combat violence, Gov. Blagojevich envisions putting speed cameras on interstates across Illinois — and using the revenue to form an “elite tactical team” that would operate in Chicago and other cities.
An on-site poll is an overwhelming no with not one yes vote. If this was any other governor, it could work. Even with a different governor, I'm not so sure this is fair.
Well, income taxes paid by Chicagoans subsidize a lot of what happens in the rest of the state, so I don't think that's so bad, even if the optics of it are awkward. But no chance in hell under Blago.
