US attorney asks GOP candidate to withdraw flier

AP talks about the race for Cook County State's Attorney:

U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald has asked Tony Peraica, the Republican candidate for Cook County State's Attorney to stop passing out a campaign flier that Fitzgerald says looks like Peraica is claiming his endorsement.

The flier shows side-by-side photos of Fitzgerald and Peraica and says the U.S. Attorney's office needs help in fighting corruption in Cook County.

Fitzgerald said he has never endorsed or even met Peraica.

Peraica, though, told the Chicago Sun-Times he will make no effort to retrieve the fliers. He says they neither state nor imply an endorsement.

It's great to talk about the US Attorney needs help to fight corruption but I'm not so sure that this tactic helps Peraica in anyway. He might just need to stop distributing these fliers and respect someone who he hopes will be his future ally against corruption.
