RTA: Riders Will Have More Say in Transit Planning

CPR:
Chicago area transit officials defended spending on train and bus improvements. Chicago aldermen yesterday interrogated the Regional Transportation Authority about planning decisions. Aldermen want the public to have more say in expensive projects like the Block 37 transit station in downtown Chicago. Steve Schlickman is the RTA's executive director.

SCHLICKMAN: We've got a new commitment to public outreach. I mean we are entering new territory on this process, and I hope to - at the end of it - be able to come back to you and say that we've been able to acheive what you're advocating for.
