CPS, police: 'We will be ready' for spring break

Sun-Times:
Chicago Police and school officials Thursday announced aggressive policing plans and strategies to keep students constructively occupied during next week's public school spring break.

The Police Department always rolls out summer safety plans, but this is the first time officials have focused on spring break.

"We will be ready,'' Supt. Jody Weis said.

Tactical and bicycle teams will be deployed to gang-infested areas of districts, and command staff will work afternoons and evenings.
It's a shame, but surely all of us wants to keep our school children safe and out of trouble!
