Some pockets of Illinois are emptying out, leaving behind vacant homes and decaying neighborhoods.
An analysis by The Associated Press shows that in a few spots, more than 20 percent of homes stand empty. In one part of Chicago's South Side, the vacancy rate tops 40 percent.
