The shooting happened about 1:20 a.m. at 79th Street and Wabash Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.If you know anything about this incident, please call the police. Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
The victim was walking with a group of about 30 people at the time when shots rang out and he was shot in the cheek, Greer said.
The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was reported to be stable, Greer said.
No one was in custody early Saturday.
