Woman struck and killed by train at 69th

[VIDEO] This incident happened earlier today and you might have seen some tweets about it especially an article about this from the Sun-Times and some CTA updates about the commute on the red line. It's interesting to see CTA only refer to what happened as a medical emergency, however, the news media refer to the real details of what happened.

As you see above CBS Chicago's Jim Williams was on the scene in front of the 69th red line station for today's 5 PM broadcast noting that signs at all CTA stations state Danger Keep off the tracks. In this case we're not just talking about the high voltage of the third rail.

Check out this safety and security page at CTA, if something of yours fall on the tracks don't try to retrieve it yourself get a CTA employee. According to the page: "An employee can help by holding trains and retrieving your phone or other items for you."
