As you see above CBS Chicago's Jim Williams was on the scene in front of the 69th red line station for today's 5 PM broadcast noting that signs at all CTA stations state Danger Keep off the tracks. In this case we're not just talking about the high voltage of the third rail.
Check out this safety and security page at CTA, if something of yours fall on the tracks don't try to retrieve it yourself get a CTA employee. According to the page: "An employee can help by holding trains and retrieving your phone or other items for you."
