Cook County unemployment rate

Courtesy of CPR:
Cook County's unemployment rate rose to 7.6 percent in June - almost a full percentage point jump in just one month. Each of the collar counties also saw a rise, and the trend continues across the state.

Illinois' 102 counties - all of them - have seen unemployment increase over the past year. The state's highest unemployment rates are at its southern tip: topping out at 11-percent in Hardin County, near the Kentucky state line.

I suppose it's safe to say the state isn't doing very well right now. At least Cook County isn't doing that bad considering the unemployment rate although I hope the rate doesn't continue to rise. It would be bad news considering this high sales tax that we have in Cook.
