CTA budget meeting moves to Oc.t 10

Chi-Town Daily News:
CTA officials today rescheduled the agency's regular October board meeting and its 2009 proposed budget presentation to 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 10

No reason was given for the change.

The transit agency is expected to unveil a budget that tops $1 billion and to propose belt-tightening -- including fare increases -- to stave off a deficit of at least $66.5 million.
If you'd like to go the meeting is open to the public. Take the Red Line to Lake St. then change for the Green Line on the State/Lake elevated station, then hop on a train bound for Harlem/Lake. Get off at Clinton. It should be on the block to the south of the L stop. CTA Headquarters is at 567 W. Lake St.
