It’s sausage vs. seafood in Daley’s postseason baseball wager

Whenever a Chicago team makes it to the playoffs this is what the mayor does. It doesn't have to be his beloved White Sox but it could be the Cubs, Bears, or Bulls. I don't recall if the mayor has ever done the wager for the Blackhawks.

Well they haven't been doing well lately anyway although that's seems likely to change. In fact the last time they were ever close to a major championship was 1992. Back then they was swept in the Stanley Cup Finals by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Anyway here's more from the Associated Press:
Chicago's mayor is putting more goods at stake in yet another baseball wager.

This time he's betting the Chicago White Sox will defeat the Tampa Bay Rays in their AL division series. Mayor Richard M. Daley previously bet the Chicago Cubs would beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in their NL playoff.

One-hundred polish sausages and baseball bats and gloves for 150 youths are among the items Daley's betting on a Sox win. His counterparts in three Florida cities, including Tampa, are wagering seafood, cigars and other items.
Let's hope he won't have to give any of that food away to LA or Tampa Bay.
