Huh? Sneed is told Cook County Board President Todd Stroger won a silent auction bid this weekend for a front-row seat at a board meeting and lunch with fellow Commissioner Larry Suffredin! That is such an oddball tidbit that I found in the Capitol Fax morning shorts today!
• • The upshot. Stroger paid $150 and Suffredin chirped: "I'm a bargain."
• • The backstory: The two are in the midst of a rift: They haven't talked since budget deal negotiations in February. "We're likeJoe Biden and John McCain," Suffredin told Sneed. "I get along with him, but I disagree with most of the things he does politically."
• • Backshot: The duo are now in the midst of new negotiations: a place to eat.
