Concerned Citizens of Chatham: Is it Time to Privatize the Chicago Public Library...:
Hey, who says only public entities can operate libraries? If we're groaning about the proposed new hours for libraries where they will be closed all day Monday then we have to come up with something to keep them open for as long as we want them. Go over to Worlee's blog and see why it's time to privatize the Chicago Public Library.
It makes sense to me, but does it make sense to you?

Not at all. I am not against private libraries per se, but like other public assets and infrastructure, public libraries exist to serve a public good. The profit motive should never enter into that.
