#mbmhmc: "Shrimp & Grits" South Shore | "My Block, My Hood, My City" Episode 14

[VIDEO] This episode of My Block, My Hood, My City takes us to the South Shore neighborhood on the south side. He spoke to two candidates for Alderman such as Jedidiah Brown running in the 5th ward and Keiana Barrett running in the 7th ward.

Of course, Mr. Cole visits two businesses - Give Me Some Sugah & Chef Sara's Cafe - in South Shore in addition to interviewing people on the street. There are issues of violent crime in that area as stated by the residents, however, there is a note of some changes in the area. So things may well be looking up for South Shore in the future.

In addition, Cole's pays a visit first to the South Shore Cultural Center which he notes was a "whites only" country club until the Chicago Park District acquired the property in 1975. This is just one of the many things you will find on the south side of Chicago if you ever venture out this way.

Mr. Jahmal Cole is correct, you can literally travel the world in Chicago when you visit the many neighborhoods of this great city.
