Former broker marketing neighborhood videos

Crain's:
A former Chicago real estate broker has launched an online product to let people tour the city's neighborhoods without ever leaving their home.

SeeChicago.com debuted Monday with 75 videos containing information about the schools, hospitals, restaurants and other facets of life in lakefront communities from Rogers Park to Hyde Park. The aim is to show "people what it's like to live in a particular neighborhood," says Peter Braun, founder and president of Chicago-based P3 New Media Group LLC.

Users can view some of the videos free at the site, but the full library is available only by paying for a subscription. The company is marketing the product to real estate firms, apartment finders and other businesses that would pay to stream the videos on their own Web sites. Mr. Braun envisions the typical user as someone who lives outside Chicago or even a city dweller wanting the inside scoop on the nightlife or shopping in a neighborhood other than their own.

Additional footage is to be added in the coming months, with P3 New Media working toward offering some 500 videos of more than 75 neighborhoods.
I look forward to seeing the south side entries on that website.
