No fewer than seven CTA cameras caught the mayhem. If you continue reading this article there is some graphic detail as to what happened to Kiyanna Salter and where the bullet struck her.
Riders diving for cover, a teenager fatally shot in the head, and, outside the bus, Milton Wardlaw firing the gun, prosecutors said.
Still, Wardlaw appeared in disbelief as he heard details of his alleged crime Friday in Cook County Bond Court.
Wardlaw, charged in the shooting death of 17-year-old Kiyanna Salter, was ordered held without bail.
"An exterior camera shows the defendant exit the bus," said Cook County prosecutor Emily Leuin. "The defendant raises a gun and fires a shot at the bus as it is moving. A muzzle flash is clearly visible from the defendant's gun."
This next article indicates that charges were filed in the beating death of Shaun Bowens:
Four Chicago teens were charged this week in the beating death of a 17-year-old boy in the Park Manor neighborhood and arrest warrants were issued for two juveniles who also may have been involved.
Jakari Glass, 17, of the 7400 block of South Indiana Avenue, Terron Griffin, 17, of the 7500 block of South Eberhart Avenue, Deshawn Carter, 17, of the 7600 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue and Tariq Anderson, 18, of the 7600 block of South Rhodes Avenue were all charged with first-degree murder for beating Shaun Bowens to death.
Bowens, a student at Gage Park High School, was with friends when a fight broke out with another group, police said. The four teens chased Bowen’s group of friends and eventually caught up with him, when they stomped, kicked and beat him with bricks.
The incident happened Sunday evening at 7500 S. Michigan Ave.
Detectives are not sure what sparked the fight, but it was not believed to be gang-related.
