Ald. Lyle on the arrest of the Governor and a sucessor to Barack Obama

It was just released today her December 2008 newsletter:
Then came December and as we counted and recounted our dollars trying to cut down, cut back or cut out our Christmas shopping list, the Governor of the State of Illinois was arrested. Again we were in shock and awe, this time however it was coupled with outrage and embarrassment. Day two brought the realization that but for an appointment by the Governor; our chances of replacing a Black man in the Senate with another Black person in the Senate have evaporated. The calls for a Special Election require a candidate to raise millions of dollars within the next 30-90 days. Now how many Black folks can do that in that short of a time frame?

Oh well, as Vivien Leigh said in Gone with the Wind, “I'll think about that tomorrow.” Right now I’ve got to get a present for Kyndle, some stamps for my cards, my Christmas tree, some wrapping paper………….
I'll do another excerpt from her aldermanic newsletter message on the City Budget!

Forgot to add that there is a ward meeting tonight at 6:30 PM at Carter Temple on 7841 S. Wabash Ave.
