Man Shot Dead Leaving High School Basketball Game

WBBM-TV:
About 7 p.m., someone approached a man leaving a high school basketball game at Harlan High School, 9652 S. Michigan Ave., and shot him twice in the head and once in the chest in the 9600 block of South Indiana Avenue, police said.

Sergio Dukes, 18, of 6144 S. Kimbark Ave., was pronounced dead at Roseland Hospital at 7:55 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, which said Dukes was shot at 9654 S. Indiana Ave.

The shooting did not happen on school grounds, but about a block east of the high school. Police said the man was dead on the scene.

Information about the shooter was not known immediately, but police said a group of people were leaving the game and Dukes was targeted. The gunman did not fire shots at anybody else in the crowd. A motive was not immediately known, police said.
I can only imagine that this brought some noise to an otherwise quiet neighborhood.
