Here's the link to the radio show from LAST YEAR (can you believe it!), which featured Worlee and JP, discussing the number of churches in our community.
Producer Dan Weissmann also sent a link to extended information from the show, broadcast on December 16. This was in response to our blog on "Church for Sale". (Apparently, they talked to the Pastor of the church, and should have audio up on it soon). Very special thaks to Dan for not only reading our blog, but seriously responding.
Sorry for this preaching tangent, but we would especially love for 6th Ward Residents to have their say here as well.
A quick reflection:
i was kind of disappointed in the direction the show took (basically bashing black churches; i should have spoken up for Pastor James Meeks, who I think is NOT exploiting people, but honestly trying to make a difference)
We would love to have churches do a small write-up on themselves, especially if they have some history in the neighborhood. Many of the churches doing good work are doing so without fanfare or publicity, so it may seem like they are doing nothing.
