Illinois Senators Dick Durbin and Roland Burris voted with the majority last night to table a measure that would have required members of Congress to vote on their annual cost-of-living pay raises, rather than receive them automatically as they did in January. At the same time, with the economy in recession, the Senate did vote to forego next year's pay raises.
