Cops crash responding to gun exploding in teens face

AP:

An unmarked police car responding to a teenager with a gun collided with a civilian car, sending four people -- including three police officers -– to local hospitals Thursday afternoon in the South Side’s Princeton Park neighborhood.

The two-car crash happened at West 95th Street and South Parnell Avenue about 3:15 p.m., according to Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford.

Three officers in an unmarked police car suffered minor injuries after and were taken in good condition to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, Langford said.

A civilian in the other vehicle -- which police said was a Dodge Caliber -- was taken to Roseland Community Hospital in good condition, Langford said.
These officers were responding to a call of a 16 year old with a gun on the 9400 block of south Prairie. The young man just so happened to have been playing with a gun but injured himself in the process.
