Lost job? No insurance? Get free care at Walgreens

Sun-Times:
Anyone who lost his or her job Tuesday or who becomes jobless this year and has no health insurance can get free health services at Walgreen Co.'s in-store clinics.

The offer by Walgreens "Take Care" clinics, good through the rest of the year, includes free treatment of colds, sinus infections, strep throat, seasonal allergies, pink eye, poison ivy and other routine treatments from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Excluded from the offer are vaccinations, physicals and infusion treatments.

City Walgreens with walk-in clinics are at 79 W. Monroe, 11 E. 75th, 1601 N. Wells, 1633 W. 95th, 7510 N. Western and 2950 E. 92nd. There are 28 Walgreens with clinics in the suburbs.
I highlighted those addresses that are nearby on the South Side, but 11 E. 75th is actually in the ward.

  1. Unfortunately, it isn't "anyone" whose lost his job but a very limited number who meet rigid restrictions -- among them you have to have already been a Take Care patient. Details
