Geese at Chicago State

I got this picture and this description from our friend Brian Pitzer at Chicago State on April 29th:

Mother Goose has taken up housekeeping among the tulips at Chicago State University. The Canada goose has been sitting faithfully on her nest near the Jacoby Dickens Athletic and Physical Education Center for approximately three weeks incubating an unknown number of eggs. The incubation period for goose eggs is 25-28 days, so several goslings are expected to make their appearance in early May on the CSU campus. Father Goose has been sighted from time to time, but for the most part is keeping a low profile.
Here's an update from this morning:

Mother Goose and her gaggle of goslings made their public debut yesterday on the campus of Chicago State University.
This should warm your heart even if at the moment the students and faculty of the university aren't every happy at this very moment. Hopefully that too shall pass.

UPDATE 5/8/2009 The photographs were taken by CSU's star photographer Brent Jones.
