Man arrested after gun battle with cops with bonus

Tribune:
Neither the police nor the suspect arrested for shooting at police was injured, said Chicago Police Officer Robert Perez.

Police were called at about 2:45 a.m. to the Fifty Yard Line at 200 East 75th Street in the Park Manor neighborhood because of a shooting at the club, said News Affairs Officer Amina Greer. Once police arrived, there was an exchange of gunfire with a man who was eventually arrested.

A weapon was recovered from the offender, Greer said.

Police said two of the injured men were in serious condition at Stroger Hospital. A third man was listed in good condition at Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center, and a fourth man was at Advocate Christ Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the torso, said Perez.

Perez said all of the victims had already been shot before police arrived.
Much earlier on Saturday afternoon there was another shooting incident in Chatham:
The incident began at 5:57 p.m. when somebody fired shots at police near East 79th Street and South Wabash Avenue, police said.

Officers reportedly apprehended the suspect and took him into custody by 6:10 p.m., police said.

No officers were injured, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.

It was not yet known if officers fired shots and further details were not immediately available.
Since when did people start taking potshots at police and expect to get away with it?
