On this subject there were two Olympic oversight ordinances in the city council:
Two competing ordinances for Olympic oversight are in Chicago City Council. One month from today the city learns if it’s the 2016 host city.Over at Clout City there was a post about this ordinance. The Daley proposal was said to be a watered down version of Ald. Flores' proposal.
Mayor Richard Daley’s ordinance gives a city council committee additional oversight if the 2016 Games land in Chicago.
Alderman Manny Flores says that’s not enough. His ordinance gives the city’s inspector general and a local civic organization power to watch the Olympic books, progress and ethics.
Question: OK I may not have posted enough about the Olympics, but perhaps I need to pose this question. How might the 6th Ward benefit from the Olympics?
