Free school supplies, clothing draw huge crowd :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Education
This event was held in Humboldt Park on the city's northwest side. Not sure if it's merely a back to school event or an event to recieve free school supplies. All I would say for this is that there should be a back to school send off out this way as well.

I not aware of a large scale give away but most of the church's in the community have or are having give aways of back packs, paper, paying for hair cuts and braids. Also, in the past Alderman Lyle has arranged for free hair cuts for boys and Chatham Foods under Mr. Harris gave away supplies.
