"Just Like Home" Daycare is now open

We've talked about this daycare before, but it is NOW open (and has been for several weeks now).

They have been working on it for over a year.

They are located at 301 E. 79th - the corner of 79th at Prairie.

I talked with Mr. & Mrs. Williams of neighboring Williams Hydro Plants, and they heard that the planned opening day was March 3. However, the owners of the daycare have had problems with getting it open.

Before you get alarmed, note that this seems to be the norm for day care facilities.

Another nearby potential center is Project Org. They are located across the street from Sears on 79th, in a white building, with a playground in the back. Currently they are using the facility for various therapies, from autism developmental therapy to playgroups. It's an excellent facility, with many resources for the children to grow socially, mentally and physically. (They even have a playground which was built through the KABOOM not-for-profit organization) When our daughter was going there, the director had talked about starting a daycare.

The current problems for Project Org include having to tear down a perfectly fine chain link fence for Black Iron rod fences mandated by the city. This costs lots of unnecessary money.

We wish Just Like Home the best as they begin to serve our community.

We would love to have more input on this place when it's available.
