Chicago Tonight: Cook County Treasurer Amps Up Transparency on Local Debt

[VIDEO] This video from a recent edition of Chicago Tonight was forwarded to us last night. It was certainly in relation to the coming event where property owners can visit with representatives of the Cook County Assessor to see if they can apply for any exemptions. Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas was on the show two nights ago to discuss where all the debt is in the county.

  1. The Greater Chatham Alliance wants all residents
to know property taxes will be higher–- significantly–
this year. This Channel 11, TV interview with Cook
County Treasurer, Maria Pappas is telling
and chilling if you are a property owner.

Please, take advantage of every county exemption
that is offered by attending the GCA Property Tax
Workshop with the Cook County Assessor's office.
We didn't have room to mention the "Long Term
Homeowner's Exemption" in our flyer. That's for
folks who have lived in their home for over 10 years.
But there are an additional 7 other exemptions that
a property owner could take advantage of.

The city of Chicago is desperate for monies, as well
as the fact that the county needs to help support
Chicagoland suburbs. Watch this video! Maria
Pappas is very candid! If you don't know about
this event, here are the details:

    GCA Property Tax Workshop
    This Tuesday, February, 5th
    Whitney Young Library
    7901 S. King Dr.
    12:30 pm to 3:30 pm
