Ald. Michael Scott Jr (Ward 24) has tested positive for coronavirus. He attended an event - Bike the Boulevard in his ward - on July 31, 2020 and got tested that same day. The results came in Thursday.
Ald. Scott also appeared at a news conference with Mayor Lightfoot and CPS CEO Janice Jackson and Director of Chgo Public Health Dr. Allison Arwady per Chicago Tribune on Wednesday which discussed plans to start the CPS school year with remote learning. He is said to be showing no symptoms, however, is following necessary health protocols.

Another member of the city council longtime Alderman Carrie Austin (Ward 34) had also tested positive for coronavirus last month.
