I didn't follow returns blow-by-blow but have seen on twitter and elsewhere what was happening in yesterday's municipal elections. So the mayoral race was interesting though it's disheartening to learn in an open mayoral race the turnout was very low.
Either way Chicago will make history to elect either Lori Lightfoot or Toni Preckwinkle as the first Black woman mayor of Chicago. And we can say either of those ladies will be second woman mayor behind the late Jane Byrne.
Runoff elections will be on April 2, 2019.

By advancing to the runoff, Lori Lightfoot and Toni Preckwinkle assure Chicago will have its first African-American female mayor in city history. https://t.co/SmB131cDlv— WBEZ (@WBEZ) February 27, 2019
