Testimony slams Troutman aide

She's been out of the public eye for largely a year after being indicted, losing her city council seat, and pleading guilty in court this summer. And now the Tribune has more but this is more about her aide than the former alderman herself:
The testimony by Donnell "Scandalous" Jehan at the trial of a former Troutman aide came hours after Jehan pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy charges.

Jehan was one in a series of witnesses whose testimony provided the most colorful accounts yet of the corruption in Troutman's office. She pleaded guilty in August to mail and tax fraud, admitting that she shook down developers for campaign contributions to throw her support behind construction projects. Troutman has said she knew Jehan as a businessman.

In the 20th Ward, Troutman essentially was the mayor, and her aide, Steven Boone, acted more like an alderman, Jehan testified at Boone's trial. He said he overheard at least one meeting in which Troutman, Boone and another staffer, Rev. Gregory Hall, discussed being "taken care of" by developers seeking zoning changes.

After becoming romantically involved with Troutman, Jehan said he approached her and Boone about buying a dilapidated building at 6417 S. Maryland Ave. The building was facing demolition, but Jehan, who said he has 15 children, wanted to move his family there after fixing it up.

Jehan said the alderman told him that everything would be arranged and allowed him to start rehabbing the structure without permits.
I suggest you read the whole thing. Almost sounds like a classic case of bribery.
