Chicago more livable than is credited for

Sun-Times:
One of those annual surveys ranking the most livable cities in the world came out the other day.

Chicago came in at 44th, according to the evaluation done by Mercer, a human resources consulting company.

Switzerland, on the other hand, had three cities in the Top 10.
...
We have nothing against Switzerland. Its cities are nice, efficient and clean. We're sure that based on the livability criteria used -- crime, political stability, health, sanitation and such -- the Swiss rule.
...
Chicago, for all its faults never commits the one sin the Swiss are guilty of. Sure, Chicago can be bitterly cold. And there's that corruption problem.

But dull as a cuckoo clock?

Not on your life.
