There were workers at the Chicago Football Classic (BTW Mississippi Valley State University defeated Alabama State University 10-3 at Soldier Field) seeking petition signatures for Danny Davis and Dorothy Brown and of course for Kari Steele with petitions and leaflets (you can click here to find a version to print off if you support her candidacy). She is a resident of the 6th Ward and Chair of the 6th Ward Young Democrats. It was mentioned briefly on the CAPCC blog that she spoke at the CAPCC monthly meeting about her candidacy.
This is not an endorsement, but I would like to wish Ms. Steele the best of luck in her endeavor to win election to the Water Reclamation district. She was probably amongst the first in the community to reach out to this blog so certainly I'm very appreciative of that.
Many who read this blog may not be very familiar with this political body so I'll offer a previous post and a direct link to the Water Reclamation District just so that you may familiarize yourself with what exactly they do.

I met her at a community meeting, and was intrigued to find out that she has both educational and work experience in regards to water (she worked for several years in the city Water Department), making her more qualified than some of the current commissioners!
ReplyDeleteNo more neopotism in Chicago politics.
