Two men wanted for impersonating police on South Side

Sun-Times:
Chicago Police have issued a community alert after two men -- posing as Chicago Police officers -- entered the South Side home of a 97-year-old woman and demanded her bank account information.

The woman was approached by two men outside of her home on the 7300 block of South Michigan Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, according to an alert from Calumet Area detectives.

The men gained entry into her home after telling her they were investigating financial crimes that involved her bank. They then requested her bank card and account information, according to the alert.

When the men began walking around the woman's home, she started asking questions at which point both men fled in a dark vehicle, the alert said.

According to the alert, the first suspect was a black man about 40-50 years old, 5-foot-8 and about 150-170 pounds, with a medium complexion. He was balding and last seen wearing a beige suit.

The second suspect was described as a black man about 20-30 years old, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet and about 180-200 pounds, with a low hair cut, according to the alert.

Both suspects were described as well-spoken and clean shaven, the alert said. They are wanted for deceptive practice.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Calumet Area detectives at (312) 747-8273.
That was one sharp 97 year old! I hope we find these police impersonators for her.
