Motorist Charged In Chicago Police Chase

An update from the news yesterday about a chase that ended near 79th and Lafayette. Starting with the Southtown:
Four people wanted for firing shots from a vehicle are in custody after leading police on a chase on the Dan Ryan Expressway that ended in a crash early today.
More details from FOX Chicago:
Deangelo Atwater, 21, of 2001 S. Michigan Ave., was charged with aggravated fleeing the police, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and also charged with a warrant. He was cited with driving on a suspended license, no insurance and failure to stop at a stop sign, according to police.


The charges were approved at 8:16 a.m. Monday and Atwater was arrested at 2 a.m. at 27 W. 83rd St., police said.

At 1:45 a.m., Targeted Response Unit officers were in the 5100 block of South Union Avenue on a routine patrol when they heard shots fired from a car, according to a statement from Chicago police News Affairs.

Police early Tuesday said Atwater was driving a purple 1995 Buick Rivera.
