Let’s Talk Remapping in Englewood!!

Since we are on the discussion of this remap perhaps it's time to show that the people of Englewood appear concerned about who will represent their community. It was posted at EveryBlock:
Resident Matter will host a remapping forum, Wednesday, November 2nd at 6:30pm in the 7th District Community Room, located at 1438 W. 63rd Street. The Black Caucus will explain and answer any questions about the remapping process to residents of the Greater Englewood.

As you know RAGE has been very vocal on the state level regarding redistricting and has always demanded a consolidation of the wards in order to have a more cohesive voice about the condition of the community.

The current draft shows that Greater Englewood would possibly be condensed from six to five wards. Is this a step in the right direction? Is five wards still too many to have for a neighborhood?

Well join Resident Matter a resident based group led by community advocate, Beatrice Jasper to learn more about this process! Email residentmatters@yahoo.com for more info.
If you make it to that meeting, feel free to let us know what happened. Send us an e-mail blog@thesixthward.us or comment in this post.
