Eugene Sawyer was Mayor of Chicago and aired this ad in a losing effort against the current Mayor, then State's Attorney Richard M. Daley back in 1989. The late Mayor Sawyer (he died in 2008) was the Alderman and Democratic committeeman of the 6th Ward.
Heh the argument against Daley is that he's spent to long on the 5th Floor of city hall but back in 1989 the argument against would have been that he's never served a day in city government.
